Setting Up SmartTube as a Home Screen Widget
We have included a YouTube alternative called SmartTube, which does not have advertisements. To use SmartTube, follow these steps:
- Open SmartTube: Click on the SmartTube app icon.
- Login: Sign in with your Google account to access your YouTube history and channels just like on the regular YouTube app.
Configuring SmartTube as a Home Screen Widget
After logging into your Google account in SmartTube, follow these steps to set it up as a Home Screen widget:
IMPORTANT: You must be logged into your Google account on SmartTube for widgets to work.
- Open Settings: Click the Settings (Gear button) on the top right of your screen.
- Edit Channels: Click on the "Edit Channels" setting.
- Select SmartTube: Scroll to find "SmartTube" and press OK.
- Enable Settings: Enable all three settings:
- History
- Recommended
- Subscriptions
- Return to Home Screen: Press the back button or the home button to return to the Home screen.
You should now see the SmartTube widgets on your Home screen, allowing you to easily access your content without advertisements.
