Video on Demand (VOD) includes movies, TV series, and catch-up content. If VOD is not loading, playing, or showing errors, here are the common causes and fixes.
Fix 1: Switch the Video Player
The most common fix for VOD playback issues is switching the built-in video player in your IPTV app. Different players handle video codecs differently.
- TiviMate: Settings → Player → change between Software, Hardware, and Exo player options
- IPTV Smarters: Settings → Player Selection → try switching between Built-in, MX Player, or VLC
- OTT Navigator: Settings → Player → try ExoPlayer, Android player, or external player
Fix 2: Install an External Player
If the built-in player does not work, install MX Player or VLC from the app store. Then in your IPTV app settings, set the external player as the default for VOD content. MX Player handles the widest range of video formats.
Fix 3: Check Your Internet Speed
VOD content, especially movies in HD or 4K, requires a stable internet connection. Run a speed test and make sure you have at least:
- SD quality: 5 Mbps minimum
- HD quality: 15 Mbps minimum
- 4K quality: 25 Mbps minimum
Fix 4: Clear Cache and Restart
Clear your IPTV app cache (Settings → Applications → your app → Clear Cache), then fully restart your device. This resolves most playback glitches.
Fix 5: Try a Different Title
If only specific movies or shows are not working, the issue may be with that particular content. Try playing a different movie or episode to see if the problem is content-specific or affects all VOD. If only certain titles fail, it is likely a temporary server issue that will resolve on its own.
Fix 6: Use a VPN
Some ISPs throttle or block certain types of streaming traffic. If VOD works on mobile data but not on your home Wi-Fi, your ISP may be interfering. Using a VPN can bypass this throttling.
